| Gustavsson doing the splits to make the save. |
After an impressive 3-0 shutout victory, the Leafs take on the New York Islanders in a back-to-back, home and home series tonight in Long Island. Sources state that the Leafs will be going with Jonas Gustavsson (also know as 'The Monster') between the pipes tonight as he looks to extend his winning streak and the Leafs' winning streak to two games.

| Gustavsson shuts the door on Jagr. |
At the beginning of the season, after the number one goalie, James
Reimer, suffered a concussion, Gustavsson was battling with Ben Scrivens
for the number one goalie position. After an impressive start, Ben
Scrivens quickly fell off and it was up to Gustavsson to lead the pack. He did so successfully, keeping the Leafs in many games and solely won games when the Boys in Blue forgot to show up. Even though the Leafs have struggled of late, winning 2 of the their last 5, Gustavsson has looked impressive in net throughout the majority of the season. With alot of people (especially the media) wondering if the Leafs were just in it to get the first overall pick next season, Gustavsson proved all the critics wrong and has shined magnificently. He holds a 15-10 record this season, with a 2.73 GAA, .910 Save Percentage, and 3 shoutouts. As the Leafs look to make a push for the postseason, they will hope that they can 'Ride the Monster' in this process. The last time they made the playoffs (2004) Ed Belfour was the star goalie for the Buds.
Until next time folks.
GO LEAFS GO!
